We all scream for ice cream!! What's not to love about Ghirardelli ice cream at Disney's California Adventure? Well, except for the price. But whenever I have a sweet tooth or need a cold treat, I can rely on this establishment's classic and unique offerings. They are known for the many sundaes, shakes, hot cocoa, chocolate treats, gifts, coffee, and more! My recent visits have been for the seasonal sundaes, like the Magical Hot Fudge Sundae with Mickey ear waffle cookies dipped in chocolate. I've also enjoyed the coffee drinks and shakes. The staff have been kind and make your orders with care and promptness. There are plenty of tables and seating around San Fransokyo Square. If you are a Magic Key holder, enjoy using your discount here. I miss the days when they used to give free chocolate samples when you entered. However, I'm looking forward to another treat here in the future.

Perfect spot to stop at during a hot and long day. They are one of the only places in the park that do military discount as well. The coffee was amazing. The chocolate is even better. I will come back every time I visit which is not often because Disneyland is so expensive.

We enjoyed the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain in Disney California. It was fun to get a cold treat. It was also cool that they had a frozen hot chocolate. I got the chocolate shake and felt it did not have enough chocolate in the flavor.

The Baseline: The Ice Cream Baseline consists of having quality dairy product, variety of flavors/mix-ins, and serving quantity for the price. Ghirardelli hits 2 out of 3. Food: The ice cream base (dairy and non-dairy) is of very high quality where the milk/cream ratio is make the ice cream smooth and silky. The flavor selection is not broad but the assembly with mix ins is high quality and good, probably the best hot fudge I can get. The serving sizes are large enough but this has the added expense of theme park pricing. Service: Service is easy as you order from the register and pickup from the window. Everyone is friendly and smiling as to be expected at a Disney Theme Park. Ambiance: This is a walk up ice cream stand with dedicated seating outside that is in some competition with other restaurant patrons with adjacent establishments. This is in Disney California Adventure so the San Fransokyo theme for Big Hero Six rocks. Top marks for ambience. I rated this a 4 because of price but it is in a theme park and money bleeds from you there anyway.

After dinner, we had a bit of time before the park closed, so we decided to head to Ghirardelli for dessert! We made it just five minutes before closing—phew! We shared an ice cream sundae and a hot chocolate, and also picked up some salted caramel dark chocolates. You really can't go wrong with anything here. The place was spotless, and the customer service was warm and friendly. I love this spot and will definitely keep coming back. While we usually visit the locations in San Diego or Monterey Bay, this one is much closer!
